A brief history of Dr John Roberts B.Ch.D
John was born and raised in Liverpool from a non-medical
orientated family. He has a healthy happy outlook on life which he contributed to his
early family life and his Liverpudlian heritage.
John qualified from Leeds Dental School in December 1981 and
after working as an associate in several practices in West Yorkshire, he set up the practice in Rochdale in October 1987
From the start John has promoted dental health and the
connections with the health of the mouth and the rest of the body.
John has not placed a mercury filling in a pregnant or nursing
mum or a child under the age of 7 since working there. This was the start of the
development of his alternative approach and has progressed into the busy practice it is
now.
During the first few years John attended many complimentary
health courses including cranial osteopathy, Kineseology, single and complex homeopathy,
nutrition and he his been able to blend them into the dental care he delivers today.
John also continued to improve his dental skills so as to offer
the very best of dental care alongside his alternative approach to dental health care.
Such courses included orthodontics, TMJ treatments, cosmetic care and general dental care.
The learning process never ends but it is relevant that John is
now being asked to teach his skills to dentists and other health practitioners. He has
also written several articles for health magazines about dental health issues.
John has travelled in Europe and many times to the USA to improve
his knowledge about the mercury issue and biologically safe dental care. He felt that what
was being taught in the UK was not as up to date as he wanted so he has pursued knowledge
wherever he could find it.
The problem with this was that other dentists in the country
wanted this knowledge also. To this end John and a dental friend from Harley Street, Dr A
C Newbury set up the British Chapter of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and
Toxicology (IAOMT) a scientific organisation dealing with the mercury issue and other
aspects of biologically safe dentistry. Together they have run the most informative
courses in the UK on the scientific aspects of safe dental care. John is currently
secretary of the IAOMT and chairman of the British Biological Dental Society which
incorporates the Holistic Dental Association.
John has also personally organised other courses dealing with the
mercury issue and root canal and cavitation problems.
It is fair to say that he has been as responsible as anyone in
this country for developing and promoting holistic dental care. |
